A taste of Summer in Italy, photographed in Huddersfield.

Bean & Barrel is an Italian-inspired mobile bar serving coffee and cocktails at events, and owner Amy had a clear vision from the start: she wanted her imagery to feel like summer in Italy.

That idea shaped everything, from how we planned the day to how I shot and edited the final images. Warm light, relaxed moments, and that slow, sun-soaked feeling of a long Italian afternoon.

Waiting for the sun

With a look like this, the weather mattered more than anything. Rather than fix a date months ahead, we kept things flexible and chose a day closer to the time, once we knew the forecast was on our side. It paid off with a properly hot summer’s day in Huddersfield.

An Italian summer in a Huddersfield garden

We set up the bar in the garden of Amy’s parents’ country house, a beautiful spot that did a lot of the work for us. Green lawns, dappled shade and plenty of space to let the bar shine in its surroundings.

What we captured

We covered the full story of Bean & Barrel:

  • Wide, scenic images of the mobile bar in the garden

  • Close-up details of the bar, its styling and the little touches that Amy designed so beautifully and with so much attention to detail

  • Preparation behind the scenes

  • Amy at work, making coffees and mixing cocktails

  • The drinks themselves, styled and photographed out in the garden

  • A variety of relaxed portraits of Amy

Out in the wild

Amy is now using her new imagery across her website and social media, and to promote Bean & Barrel far and wide, giving potential customers a real feel for the experience before they’ve even booked.

Here’s a few of my favourite images from the session.

Every business has a story worth telling.

Like Amy, many businesses come to me needing more than a handful of nice images. They want a full, consistent set they can use everywhere, from their website to social media and beyond. That’s exactly what The Brand Story Library is: a wide variety of natural, story-led images that show your business as it really is, all captured in one day.

If you’d like to find out more, take a look at , The Brand Story Library or book a free Brand Story Audit and we can chat about what your business needs.
