Brand Photography – Garden Room Micro Bakery, Staffordshire.

Photographing a working micro bakery for Malvern Garden Buildings, commissioned by a creative agency in Staffordshire.

I was recently commissioned by Ello Dave, based in Staffordshire, to photograph a garden room micro bakery for Malvern Garden Buildings.

The space was a fully working small business, ‘Bread & More’ set up inside a purpose-built garden room which was so thoughtfully designed by Vanessa and Tom. Everything had a purpose; work surfaces, the oven (which was Vanessa’s pride and joy!), shelves, baskets and utensils – all laid out in a way that made the day-to-day running of the small bakery work seamlessly.

We arrived around 5am, ready to capture the first bakes of the day, but not before I sampled a strong (much needed) coffee and a few delicious slices of fresh Sourdough laced with butter in the main house kitchen, chatting to Tom about the design and planning of the space.

The light was incredible at that time of the morning and we photographed until the sun came up, concentrating on the light coming through the windows, textures of ingredients, the way everything works together and some relaxed portraits to really showcase the what’s possible in such a compact space.

We left just before large queues along the path would form, from customers collecting their orders, and having sampled Vanessa’s sourdough I can see why she is so busy, I even brought a couple of loaves home for myself.

Here’s some images from our early morning together and some useful links below:
